I was measuring a house for a really big client of mine so I kept double checking all of my work as I was going through the residence. After each measurement I took I jotted down the figure and checked at least three times to make sure it matched what was on the screen of my laser. As soon as I finished the last room, I handed the notebook to my assistant and went to call my client to tell him I had finished.
The phone rang a couple times and then was forwarded to his voicemail. I started to leave a message when my assistance got my attention and told me to hang up. As I hung up, my assistance hesitantly told me that I had made a mistake in writing down some of the measurements. I was astounded. I had double checked every single measurement I wrote down with the one I took on the measuring device, and still I had made mistakes! My assistant showed me on the saved measurements on the laser that some of them did not match the ones in my notebook. This meant that I had to go through the entire house another time, measure everything and check my work again.

Due to the Bluetooth technology, measurement results can be wirelessly and accurately transferred to Pocket PCs and PCs. Then you can easily process your data in Excel, Word, AutoCAD and other Window programs. This cuts out a lot of errors when writing down the measurements and then transferring them onto the computer. If only I had a Leica Disto D330I at the time I was measuring the house I would have saved myself a lot of time, effort and money.
