Pipe and Cable locators

Cable and Pipe lasers are essential to have on a construction sight. Health and Safety authorities all over the world advise that before undertaking any kind of excavation, operators should first scan an area with a Cable Avoidance Tool. Even with this advice, site workers are still injured and killed due to inadvertently striking buried cables. SubSurface Instruments makes an incredible Pipe and Cable Locator that can avoid these injuries called the PL-2000 Series. With the PL-2000 Series, operators can locate, trace and mark underground services quickly, precisely and reliably prior to excavation.
The PL-2000 Series Pipe and Cable Locator detects power signals and charges. It can locate power signals radiated by energized cables or it can trace signals originating from distant radio transmitters. These radio signals penetrate the ground and are reradiated by buried metallic cables and pipes. It can detect anything that has a signal or charge such as electrical power cables, cable lines, telephone lines, power lines, water lines, tracer lines and anything that had a metallic conductor.
The PL-2000 Series Cable and Pipe Locator offers a new approach in high power, low frequency locating. With three active frequencies (at a nominal 512 Hz, 8kHz, and 27 kHz), two passive frequencies (at the 50/60 cycle flowing AC current, and Radio in the 14 kHz - 25 kHz), four modes of operation, and both inductive and direct connection capabilities, the PL-2000 is powerful and versatile, but still surprisingly easy to use and cost effective.
The four different operating modes that the lightweight, balanced receiver offers are Peak, Null, Dist, and Sonde. Peak mode is for the most accurate locates and for depth measurement. Null mode is for fast, easy tracking. Dist mode is for even longer distances and Sonde mode is for locating sewer Sondes and measuring their depths. The PL-2000 Series is designed to help avoid damage to underground services during excavation, injuries to on site workers, as well as make the job easier and simpler for the personnel.

Magellan GPS ProMark3 RTK

Looking for a powerful, easy-to-use and affordable GPS? The Magellen ProMark3 RTK is all that and more! Based on an advanced, easy-to-use, easy-to-learn technology, ProMark3 RTK is rugged and reliable, offering precision performance even under difficult conditions. ProMark3 RTK offers superior GPS capability in a complete range of survey modes, including real-time, real-time and raw data, post-processing and mapping.
ProMark3 RTK presents complete real-time GNSS surveying and mobile mapping capabilities on an innovative platform at a remarkably affordable price. Magellan’s embedded BLADE technology, a proprietary GNSS processing solution, enables ProMark3 RTK to outperform other single-frequency RTK receivers, granting real-time performance in the most lightweight handheld system on the market. BLADE’s unique GPS and SBAS RTK algorithm ensures quick initialization with single frequency receivers and takes full advantage of the maximum satellite coverage from the dual constellation to deliver centimeter accuracy.

ProMark3 RTK is compatible with NTRIP and direct IP and can be connected to any GPS network broadcasting corrections. It is available as a Rover system and as a Base and Rover with a license-free plug-and-play radio kit. This provides a great advantage when a network is unavailable or when surveying independently from third party data corrections.
You can also chose from a couple of different ProMark3 RTK Software. For example the Fast Survey Software is a field software option provided to comply with demanding requirements, such as compatibility with a wide range of survey instruments, extensive data formats and local coordinate system availability. Fast Survey includes topographic features typically associated with dual-frequency. These easy-to-use features make it possible for professional surveyors and novice GPS users alike to run complete survey jobs, including stake out, and combining projects done in association with total stations.
Then there is the GNSS Solutions office software, which is a comprehensive survey software package with all the tools required to successfully process GPS and SBAS survey data. GNSS Solutions includes advanced error detection and quality analysis tools to ensure accurate and reliable results. GNSS Solutions guides the user through mission preparation, planning, processing, quality control, reporting and exporting. Focusing on simplicity, the software performs quick and easy data transfer and management.

And lastly you have the option of the MobilMapper Office software which links the ProMark3 RTK receiver to the GIS database. Simply upload shape files and other GIS data to be updated in the field. Editing data and exporting .SHP, .MIF, .DXF and .CSV files is easy. Upload base maps and vector background maps to the free memory or to an SD card.

ProMark3 RTK offers a user-friendly interface that is phenomenal. It is rugged and dependable, offering accurate performance even under difficult conditions. The ProMark3 RTK is guaranteed to make using your GPS, a better experience!

The difference Between the Spectra Precision HV and the LL

Sometimes when I go onto my company’s website my head spins from looking at all the lasers we have posted on it. I have a hard time differentiating between which laser does what and where, and what the laser limits are or even its durability. So I decided that I would take two very popular Spectra Laser series and see if I can explain the difference between the two clearly.
Spectra Precision HV Horizontal and Vertical Laser
The automatic, self-leveling Spectra HV Series Laser is a professional and economical tool with exceptional versatility and visibility. The HV Series laser is capable of handling a wide variety of horizontal, vertical and plumb applications. The HV Series are advanced lasers with exceptional accuracy and durability for general construction projects.
Replace the conventional method of string lines and optical instruments—the HV Series gives you an easy setup and one-person operation in a wide variety of commercial applications to increase accuracy and boost your productivity. The Split beam enables plumb point transfer and 90-degree layout and is easily visible even in brightly lit conditions.
The Spectra HV Level Series are rugged enough for the toughest jobsite and are designed to survive a 3 foot (1 m) drop onto concrete. The remote control offers scanning, speed control, slope setting, and alignment control for fast one person setups. It even has an out of level warning!
Applications: Cut and fill measurements, Layout and excavation lines , Positioning of concrete forms/"pinning" footers, Layout of construction control lines on concrete pad for subcontractor use, Elevation control over large jobsites, Slopes on grade, Interior and exterior commercial and residential construction, Leveling and aligning, Installation of ceilings and raised floors and walls, and Interior squaring/layout/vertical alignment/leveling.

Spectra LL Horizontal Laser Level Series: A leveling crew in a case
The Spectra LL Horizontal Laser Level Series is simple to use and makes one-person leveling as easy as possible to put you in control of your elevations. The Spectra Precision LL Series is rugged enough to survive drops of up to 1 meter (3 feet) onto concrete and can be tipped on a tripod up to 1.5 meters (5 feet) and keep working. This strength combined with full weather and dust proofing, results in reduced downtime and lower repair costs over the life of the product.
The LL’s self-leveling capability results in outstanding accuracy and ease of use. Since the LL Series levels itself when turned on, setting up is easy with just one button press. The optional remote control gives you the option of controlling the unit from the rod position when doing slope matching. It also offers single-axis slope mode with self-leveling in the cross axis, providing more accurate grade measurements
The fully automatic, self-leveling Spectra Precision Laser LL Series Laser Level sets a new standard in rugged reliability, handling a wide variety of general and concrete construction applications. Even in tough jobsite conditions, the LL Series consistently delivers reliable, accurate performance to increase your overall productivity and cost-savings. The LL series has an out-of- level warning which eliminates faulty readings. It also has a single-axis slope mode offers fast setup and grade match to a reference mark for permanent and accurate ceiling slope reference.
Applications: Checking/setting elevations, concrete forms, footings, and foundations for smaller job sites, Patio decks, terraces, swimming pools and septic systems and leach fields, driveway and ramps and slopes, Estimating cut and fill , Excavating and digging.
