Electronic Construction Level Leica Sprinter 205M

Football is known to be a bonding experience for fathers and sons. That’s why I found myself standing in the cold on a Sunday afternoon with my son, cheering wildly and screaming myself hoarse for my football team. It was the bottom of the fourth quarter only a minute left until the end of the game. Our team had the ball and we were behind by four points. It was the third down and we were forty nine yards from the goal. We had two opportunities to score a touchdown and win the game!

The quarterback screamed, “Hike!” as the crowd watched breathlessly. The football was snapped into his hands. He looked around and there was one of our wide receivers running down the sidelines, wide open for a forty yard catch. The ball was thrown and caught! The crowd went wild.

The receiver slid right out of bounds after the catch and fell hard on his leg. The applauding crowd slowly quieted as they realized that he wasn’t getting up. I tried to reassure my son that everything was going to be okay, as the medics ran onto the scene and set up a stretcher. Everyone was stunned and bewildered by what had happened. Why didn’t he get up? He wasn’t tackled and he didn’t look like he hit anything hard when he stepped out of bounds.

After the game, I found out that the ground was uneven in the particular spot where the receiver stepped out of bounds. This caused the receiver to land awkwardly on his leg and sprain it. Investigations were taking place into the construction company that had been contracted to build the stadium and who had made this seemingly small error.

If the construction company had owned a Leica Sprinter 250M Electronic Level, this mistake never would have occurred. With the Leica Sprinter 250M, precise leveling measurements are easy to perform. The Sprinter 250M allows users to complete their job quickly, efficiently and accurately.
The Leica Sprinter 250M offers everything that you would expect from a construction instrument. It enhances user benefits with straightforward user interface and value-added functions. The Sprinter 250M is the perfect tool for advanced construction leveling tasks. It can store up to 1’000 measurements and download and transfer them for further calculations into Excel on a PC via USB. The Leica Sprinter 250M offers delta height calculation and programs line leveling, cut and fill and monitors your leveling job significantly. The .7 mm accuracy of the 250M and the monitoring program allow machine and construction subsidence measurements.
With the Leica Sprinter 250M’s high-accuracy optical elements, you simply aim and focus the staff as an optical level. Then simply push the red button to take the measurement. That‘s all you need to do! No intensive training necessary. In addition, optical readings are no longer needed. The bar code on the staff determines height and distance which is displayed on a highly visible LCD screen. The Leica Sprinter 250M Electronic Level also takes on your calculations. Choose the right application in your language and the correct results will be displayed. It can measure height and distance, delta height, tracking, line leveling, cut and fill and monitoring.
The Sprinter 250 covers almost all construction applications. It automatically determines your delta height which can calculate the height difference between points. You would enter your benchmark, measure your back sight and then various targets or foresights. As you are measuring, the delta height is always calculated and displayed. With the line leveling function, whether you only have back and foresights or even intermediate sights, you can choose the line leveling job you need. All you have to do is enter your starting benchmark, measure your back sights, intermediate sights and foresights until you have reached your final point. All measurements are stored in the appropriate order.
For continuous measurement on the Sprinter 250M, choose the tracking mode and averaging mode for more accurate results. The Cut & Fill feature is an onboard application that indicates the cut and fill result based on a reference level. You would enter your required reference level and benchmark. Take the back sight and start measuring. The program will now display the cut and fill results, height differences and will compare it to your reference level.
With all the Sprinter 250M functions and abilities, there is no doubt in my mind that no errors will be made or can be made on a construction sight. Everything is self explanatory and easy to use with this Electronic Level.
