Leica Disto D330I Handheld laser distance meter w/ Bluetooth

I was measuring a house for a really big client of mine so I kept double checking all of my work as I was going through the residence. After each measurement I took I jotted down the figure and checked at least three times to make sure it matched what was on the screen of my laser. As soon as I finished the last room, I handed the notebook to my assistant and went to call my client to tell him I had finished.
The phone rang a couple times and then was forwarded to his voicemail. I started to leave a message when my assistance got my attention and told me to hang up. As I hung up, my assistance hesitantly told me that I had made a mistake in writing down some of the measurements. I was astounded. I had double checked every single measurement I wrote down with the one I took on the measuring device, and still I had made mistakes! My assistant showed me on the saved measurements on the laser that some of them did not match the ones in my notebook. This meant that I had to go through the entire house another time, measure everything and check my work again.
Good thing that Leica Geosystems just came out with a new Laser Distance Measurer Device with Bluetooth. It is called the Leica Disto D330I. Due to the Bluetooth technology, measurement results can be wirelessly and accurately transferred to Pocket PCs and PCs. Then you can easily process your data in Excel, Word, AutoCAD and other Window programs. This cuts out a lot of errors when writing down the measurements and then transferring them onto the computer. If only I had a Leica Disto D330I at the time I was measuring the house I would have saved myself a lot of time, effort and money.
Additionally, the Leica Disto D330I is equipped with a tilt sensor, calculation possibilities for rectangular and triangular areas, volumes, room dimensions and various types of Pythagoras functions. It also has a smart horizontal mode which combines distance and tilt measurements so that you may determine the horizontal distance precisely and simply. If you take a measurement at an inclination of ± 45°, the Leica Disto D330I always calculates the shortest distance, so you can measure quickly and easily, even over the top of objects and people.

The measurement results are displayed on the large two inch screen that is clearly arranged. At the touch of a button, the display makes supplementary information available about the measurements for example indirect height, room dimensions, angle information or room angles. The Leica Disto D330I also contains the transfer software and is easy to install in your PC. To avoid lots of human errors, the Leica Disto D330I with Bluetooth is the way to go.

Leica Grade Laser 260SG

After work the other day, I took my crew out bowling as a treat. We got our bowling shoes, two lanes and some pizza. I had never been to this particular bowling alley and I was impressed by the cleanliness and sophistication of the decorations. I sat down as one of my buddies took the job of putting all our names into the system.
As some of the crew member started to bowl, they began to complain about the lanes. There was something off about them. They weren’t level. I just thought the crew was whining to cover up the fact that they couldn’t bowl. Then it was my turn. Now I’m not a professional bowler, but I know I am pretty good. As I released the ball I knew it was going to hit the pins dead center. But as I watched the ball veered to the left and went straight into the gutter. I stared open mouthed with disbelief. There was definitely something wrong with the lanes.
My crew and I decided that we were going to figure out what was wrong. Most of the balls that we bowled veered to the left and dropped into the gutter. I realized that I had a Leica 260SG Rotary Laser in my car and ran to go get it. The bowling attendants looked at me strangely as I set the Leica 260SG Rotary Laser on the floor and turned it on.
Whoever created the lanes clearly had a defective laser. I had put the Leica 260SG Laser on the floor and the lanes were clearly tilted to the left. I decided to figure out what slop the lanes were positioned at. I hit the remote and the Leica 260SG’s laser beam started to bend until I matched it to the lane slope. I looked at the machine and realized that the lanes were at a 10% slope!
The construction company evidently was using an unreliable laser when they had created the bowling alley lanes. That is why when I am doing any job I only stick to known brands that have proven to be extremely steadfast thought out the years. Like the Leica 260 Single Grade Rotary Laser.
The Leica 260 Single Grade Rotary Laser is dependable and offers contractors a real choice of features and functionality. The Leica Rugby 260SG is a highly accurate, general construction laser with single grade capability. It is a rugged general laser with great accuracy of 1/6 of an inch at one hundred feet for leveling and 1/8 of an inch at one hundred feet for grade. The LCD shows grade readout and has a semi automatic grade with a bump alert. The Leica Rugby 260 Laser has a bright red beam, a plumb beam and a scan mode.
The Leica 260SG is also very simple to use! All you need to do is press Up or Down to enter the required grade, up to 10%. Or you can press the Star button to enter higher grades by digit. The Leica Rugby 260SG Laser can also lock in the grade modifications to prevent any unwanted changes. It also has a feature called Beam Masking where you may turn off the laser diode on up to three sides of the laser to avoid any unwanted disturbances.

The Rugby 260SG Laser constantly shows the battery status for the user’s reference. The best part of the Leica Rugby 260 Laser is that it is 100% waterproof with a high impact housing. That makes this rugby the toughest and most durable in the industry! Make the right choice with the Leica Rugby 260SG Laser.

New Spectra Precision DET-2 Digital Electronic Theodolite

A friend of mine has been complaining nonstop, about these brutal headaches he keeps getting. He claims that it starts with his eyes and then travels to the rest of his head. He blames them on his new Digital Theodolite that he just purchased. I was a little bit bewildered about his accusation until I realized that certain companies advertise that their Theodolites minimize eye fatigue which reduces headaches. I noticed that the Spectra Precision DET-2 Digital Theodolite advertises that it reduces eye fatigue, so I put it to the test. I took one of the Spectra Precision DET-2 Digital Theodolites that my company had in stock and gave it to my friend to borrow. I told him to see if he keeps getting the headaches when using the machine.

My friend called me a couple of days later and said that the new Theodolite had “cured” his headaches. He was absolutely thrilled! He decided to keep the machine, not only because of the relief to his brain, but also because he liked a lot of the features that the Spectra DET-2 Digital Theodolite had.

The Spectra Precision DET-2 Digital Theodolite, which is designed for general construction, gives you accurate measurements in an affordable, versatile and easy to use platform. The Spectra Precision DET-2 Theodolite has dual displays and controls for easy accessibility and operation and its very large backlit LCD characters is great easy readings. In addition, the Spectra Precision DET-2 Theodolite has a built-in reticle illuminator that allows you to work inside buildings and other environments with little or no light. You can count on working in difficult conditions with the DET-2.

Fast investment payback is the goal of the Spectra Precision DET-2 Digital Theodolite. With its 2” accuracy (1” or 5” selectable display readings) and vertical axis compensation, it can handle any construction job. Spectra Precision DG511 Pipe Laser

I bumped into one of my friends from my childhood, as I was shopping the other day. While we were catching each other up on our lives, he let me know that he is also in the construction business. We discussed each of our companies for a time, until he let slip that he ran into some legal troubles a couple months ago that was still ongoing.
He said that he had laid some sewer piping, for a big corporate office building and since the Pipe Laser that he was using wasn’t reliable, the pipe angles and its direction were incorrect. The Pipe Laser had given him an incorrect readout and so the piping was laid wrong and was causing a lot of issues within the building. He was now being sued for the issues, the money that they had paid him for the job, his license and anything else the corporate company could think of.
I was astounded. Every construction worker knows how important it is to use reliable and accurate instruments. I was glad that I owned the Spectra Precision DG511 Pipe Laser. This Pipe Laser is an extremely reliable instrument that has a long lasting performance. One of the features that I love is the Service Alert Feature which allows the machine to keep track of its own maintenance needs, indicating at pre-set intervals when it’s time for a check up. If my friend would have owned the DG511, it would have informed him that there was something wrong with the machine before he began the job.
The Spectra Precision DG511 Pipe Laser is also built and designed for the toughest job site and is completely waterproof. My Spectra Precision DG511 Pipe Laser is usually involved in very harsh conditions and receives constant abuse from my crew. But the Spectra Precision DG511 Pipe Laser stands up to all that and corrosions from chemicals, acids and other destructive elements.
In addition to the DG511 Pipe Laser being very rugged, it also has the largest automatic leveling range in the industry providing quick, easy set-ups, regardless of grade. Unlike traditional pipe lasers, the DG511 Pipe Laser eliminates the need for rough leveling and minimizes crew training. Simply set up the laser in the pipe, manhole or open cut without the need to swivel or rough level the unit. There is no need to reset the unit over the center point, when rough leveling.

Leica Pipe Laser

The Leica Piper series of pipe lasers are perfect for: storm and sanitary sewer construction, gravity flow pipe line and anywhere grade and line are required with a single beam Powerful and compact, the Leica Piper is the only pipe laser that fits inside a 100 mm (four inch) pipe. It is built with solid cast-aluminum housings, and is loaded with features that will improve productivity and minimize downtime on the jobsite. It is ideal anywhere line and grade is required. It has a large clear display that makes it easier for contractors to read grade, line position, battery status, and level indication. The intelligent battery monitors the amount of charge/discharge so that contractors always know how much battery life they have left. The Leica Piper’s bright, visible beam is focused to maintain its crisp, clear spot and size over long distances. Automatic grade compensation easily identifies and corrects grade errors. It automatically self-levels over a full grade range, and eliminates the need to tip the laser for steep slopes.
The Leica Piper 200 features the Alignmaster function, a patented automatic targeting system that searches and finds the target for fast second day setups.

The Piper performs exceptionally well for my crew. They really like the compact design that allows them to easily place it in the tightest of inverts, and the bright beam stands out making the accurateplacement of the pipe a simple task.

Whether you have to precisely layout a construction site, perform control measurements, collect height and angle data, align concrete forms, install ceilings and partitions, lay gravity flow pipe, locateunderground services or complete site preparation and earthworks Tiger Supplies offers the right instrument, construction laser or machine control installation for your constructionapplication.
