Spectra Field and Office Software Gets an Unlikely Comparison

While taking a trip down memory lane, I remembered how stressful my last year in college was. Teachers bombarded my class with requirements we had to submit before we could even graduate. While I struggled to fulfill each of my teacher’s demands, making a thesis was probably the most tedious of all.

Writing a thesis is tough. It doesn't really take a genius to figure that out but if you are, then your classmates must have uttered a little prayer so they could team up with you. Despite all the pressure regarding the deadline, my anxiety was greatly reduced by the fact that my thesis in college was in fact a group effort. To be honest, I disappeared in the middle of the project and then was pushed by my colleagues to present the findings during the final presentation – a very good punishment. Sigh!

Anyway, bringing life to a construction project is actually a lot like creating a thesis. In fact, both of them undergo the same basic process before a good outcome can be achieved.

For instance:

1. Both start through brainstorming and planning.
2. Next, you gather relevant information from sources.
3. Then, you need to process and analyze the data.
4. Finally, you present the collected data and draw a conclusion.

Actually, the similarities between these two are uncanny.

Spectra Survey Office SoftwareAs field equipment has improved over the years, major surveying and construction companies like Spectra Precision have also ventured into computer programming to deliver the most reliable field and office software, such as Survey Pro Field, Survey Pro Office, Layout Pro Field and Layout Pro Office. These data collection and office drafting software are designed to gather accurate field data and process it to deliver the best possible blueprint or model of the project before building and construction starts.

Think of them like the popular Microsoft Office programs. These applications were my best friends in writing my college thesis. No matter what I did, typing or creating a PowerPoint presentation, everything was just easier and more convenient. This is exactly how Spectra’s suite of powerful software works!

The concept is really simple. Survey Pro Field is responsible for collecting accurate field data, while Survey Pro Office analyzes that data to generate reports as well as identify and correct field errors.

On the other hand, Spectra Layout Pro Office software makes it easier to create a digital model of your blueprint in the office and transfer the file into total stations or data collectors equipped with Layout Pro Field software. This process allows you to take your designs directly to the construction area to begin building.

The Spectra software suite is truly the best friend that field professionals and non-professionals have been waiting for. Compatible with almost all popular file types, each Survey Pro software system integrates perfectly with one another and is full of useful and practical features. But just like the simplicity and short learning curve of using a Windows desktop PC, any Spectra software is easy to use with an interface that provides short descriptions for each button function on your data collector or PC.

These innovations in the world of surveying and construction have really opened my mind and made me admire how advanced our technology has become. From tediously doing things manually to now having everything generated automatically for you with just a few clicks!

And just like my college thesis, breathtaking structures won’t exist without team work from surveyors, contractors and engineers. Spectra Field and Office software links all field crews and tasks together, so nobody gets left behind. Take it from me – it’s not advisable to follow what I did to my group mates in thesis. Be part of your team from start to finish!
