Leica Piper 200 The World's Most Versatile Pipe Laser!

I was at one of my construction sights when I saw one of my crew members pick up an expensive looking laser from Leica and stick it securely in a pipe filled with water. I dove head first for the object and yanked it out of the water. I dried it off quickly and turned to my shocked colleague. “What do you think you are doing?” I yelled shaking my wet hand at him, “Do you have any idea how much a machine like this cost?” The crew member just stood there with his mouth hanging open. When he recovered from his shock, he burst out laughing. Exasperated, I turned to one of my colleagues that had watched the whole thing, and found him laughing too. Breathlessly they both explained that the machine that was just stuck into water was the Leica Piper Pipe Laser 200 and that it was one hundred percent water proof.

The Leica Piper series of pipe lasers are made for a wet environment. They are perfect for storm and sanitary sewer construction, gravity flow pipe line and anywhere grade and line is required with a single beam. Whether you have to precisely stake out a construction site, perform control measurements, collect height and angle data, align concrete forms, install ceilings and partitions, lay gravity flow pipe, locate underground services or complete site preparation and earthworks, this machine will provide fast results, keep you working and increase your profitability without having to worry about rainy weather or puddles. The Leica Piper series lasers are well protected and are built with solid cast-aluminum housings. They are loaded with features that will improve productivity and minimize downtime on the jobsite. Powerful and compact, the Leica Piper is the only pipe laser that fits inside a 100 mm (four inch) pipe.

It is ideal anywhere line and grade is required. It has a large clear display that makes it easier for contractors to read grade, line position, battery status, and level indication. The intelligent battery monitors the amount of charge/discharge so that contractors always know how much battery life they have left. The Leica Piper’s bright, visible beam is focused to maintain its crisp, clear spot and size over long distances. Automatic grade compensation easily identifies and corrects grade errors. It automatically self-levels over a full grade range, and eliminates the need to tip the laser for steep slopes. Leica Piper-Solid performance-in the pipe, over the top, or in the manhole:

In the Pipe: Self-centering, rubbers tipped feet ensure the piper stays working. Rock solid construction with cast aluminum housing for the toughest jobsite conditions.

Over the top: Optional scope and mount kit for above the ground setups. Versatile, yet simple to operate and user friendly.

In the manhole: Its unique design and wide stable base make the piper easy to set up even in the smallest invert. The Piper is 100% waterproof with a positive pressure nitrogen seal.

CST Berger 305R 5 Second Reflectorless Total Station

Walking on a construction site puts the work that an employee does, into perspective. The effort and exertion they apply everyday is enough to make a person fret. To show appreciation to the staff, make sure there is a total station on site, which will make their job much easier. Working with a total station on a job site simplifies and reduces all the work involved. Total Stations have so many different features that it will help with getting the job done quickly and easily without errors or complications.
One total station that sticks out from the rest is the CST Berger 305R Reflectorless Total Station. This newly released, reliable instrument has high end features at an affordable price. The CST-305R is easy to use and is ideal for modern surveying, construction staking, mapping and GIS, geo-marking, environmental studies as well as industrial applications. In addition it can be used to determine 3D coordinate measurements, point staking, line staking, offset measurements, remote elevation, missing line measurements, resection, area calculation, curves (vertical, transition and circular), and road construction applications.
This unit measures up to 9,842-ft (3000m) with a single prism and 660-ft (200m) without a prism. The 30x powered instruments have a field of view of 1°30' with a minimum focus of 1.3m. Data input is convenient too with this reflectorless total station. A dual-sided, four line LCD display is easy to read. The alpha/numeric keyboard is easy to use and program. The CST-305R has the added feature of six onboard language choices for multi-lingual environments.
Transferring measurements is simple with the versatility of data transfer the CST-305R provides. A SD card slot built into the unit is convenient for use in the field and offers nearly unlimited storage of measurements. Data can easily be downloaded from the instrument to a computer through a USB port, RS-232 port or with a separate card reader. With the CST-305R you can even transfer data wirelessly in the field through a PDA with a SD card slot.
The CST-305R Reflectorless Total Station features a water-resistant housing and is powered by an on-board battery. All the components that accompany the instrument fit into a rugged carrying case. It also comes with a two year warranty.
